TESSELATION

From: D.B. Donaldson
Regarding: The Speaker tools, connecting as a team and meetings.
Here are some of the tools we are currently using:
Webnote
Our working Webnote is at http://www.aypwip.org/webnote/
Please feel free to add things to the working Webnote.
Online Calendar
Anyone who knows of an online calendar where we could each input upcoming news events, please let me know.
HootSuite
Allows serious social media organization. It also allows us to view tweets or posts coming from any area of the world. We can focus as sharply as we like on an area. Battle lines, court houses, and public events such as concerts and sporting events are just some of the things we can use this tool for.
You can connect with people on the scene, ask them questions, ask them for photos, and you can give them credit for their contributions in your article.
Justunfollow.com
Allows you to track your Twitter followers—who adds or unfollows you, your progress, who you are following but is not following you, etc.
Hashtagify
http://hashtagify.me/ Input your hashtag, and it will give you related hashtags as well as popularity of the hashtags. Useful for composing Twitter hashtags.
AP style guides
Vary a little, but here are some good ones: 1) long one with lots of examples (I like this one right now) http://myhome.sunyocc.edu/~saizl/apstyle.html ; 2) short one many at GLV use: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/735/02/ Neither of these replace the bookhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AP_Stylebook .
RSS Feeder
Very unobtrusive program that creates a small icon on your Chrome browser. The icon displays a number representing the posts that have occurred on your feeds. You can add feeds from GLV or from your favorite news sources. For example, I can view when ITAR-TASS posts a new article on Russian news.
(Instructions courtesy Brent):
Once you install it, click the plus sign and start adding the links below the downloads. It’s $20 per year, but worth it as a tool. 30 day free trial I believe. It will put an icon by your address bar in your browser.
