Mission: The Speaker was created to be a good source of news, particularly about things not covered adequately in larger mainstream news, as well as for subjects of particular interest to contributors (journalists, photographers, videographers).
We would like our stories to provide often unusual or non-mainstream points of view and information from sources that may not be common in mainstream news, in addition to the regular information. We prefer to have multiple takes on a story, which sometimes leaves our readers asking us what political leaning we have.
We believe in the old tried and trusted standards of journalism. These standards are upheld by most authoritative and trusted news organizations because they prioritize being correct and fair over being exciting or popular. Informing the public is a responsibility to those who take on any form of service, where trust is paramount.
